How about getting a war chest of money put together … and sue the hell out of these folks every time they open their stupid mouths! Each and every time! It doesn’t matter what for. Make them pay individually and constantly. Keep their ignorant asses in a sea of legal red tape for as long as the collective money lasts. Legally screw with them.

The above quote is from Rick Archbold, whom the LACC Board hired in September 2007 to be our General Manager. Rick is referring to homeowner criticism at one of the three (3) associations at which he had been employed over the past half-dozen years. In each case he was fired (or forced to "resign") amid accusations of outrageous behavior. The "stupid" owners to which he referred convinced the association to bring a lawsuit, alleging that he had mismanaged association affairs in order to benefit certain developers, failed to set aside required reserve funds and distributed false audit reports to the members. The litigation reportedly led to a settlement of $10,000,000 in the assocation's favor.

PREDICTABLY, Rick is up to his old tricks at LACC, making false applications to the IRS and state government and persuading the LACC Board to illegally raid our reserves.

WE TOLD YOU SO .... 5 years ago we conducted an extensive investigation into the background of Rick Archbold, announced as the new General Manager. We interviewed scores of people who knew him in prior employment, and obtained copies of military service records, court filings and other written documention, all proving that "Rick" had been fired in each of his prior stints as an HOA GM and had greatly exaggerated his military record. In his first job at Heritage Ranch he was charged with diverting HOA funds to projects favored by developers, leaving no funds for necessary maintenance of roads and association structures. In his last job at Hidden Valley Ranch, he was ousted after hundreds of members protested his plan for an extremely expensive and unnecessary expansion of the club buildings. SOUND FAMILIAR? Look at the sorry condition of LACC roads after almost all of our reserve funds were unlawfully diverted to finance "major golf course improvement," and the pointless and poorly executed "upgrade" of the LACC Clifford gate - and during an economic downturn.

THANKS TO MAC HINMAN, then LACC President, all of this critical information was suppressed and ignored. Members were warned "not to look" at this "unofficial website," lest they be corrupted by the facts. Worse, Hinman lied repeatedly in LACC publications about our website and Archbold's history, even in Small Claims court, when our attorneys sued to force release of certain Archbold records withheld by LACC. Now we are all paying the price for Hinman's shameful betrayal of our trust.

We have never asked anyone to take our word for the statements made on this website - take a look at the documents and links to other sources and make up your own mind. Don't be fooled by "official" LACC announcements - lack of member involvement and criticism is what has enabled the LACC Board to raid our reserve funds and divert our resources from critical maintenance and repairs.

NOW LACC IS DOUBLING-DOWN ON ARCHBOLD, planning to renew his contract on the quiet, with nary a word to Members. LACC is run by a small clique of golf fanatics, who are more than happy to have the rest of us lavishly subsidize the "LACC One-Percent" (the few dozen who make extensive use of the golf course while enjoying special rates and privileges). By diverting hundreds of thousands of dollars each year from the Reserve Fund to "improve" the golf course, and dramatically increasing all other fees and fines (while annual dues skyrocket), Archbold has been an enthusiastic accomplice.
